The Experience of a Lifetime

Most people paddle about 4 km in an hour in a canoe and a little faster in a kayak. A reasonable daily distance is usually around 10–12 km, depending on the weather and wind conditions.

Each canoe rental includes two life jackets, two paddles, a map, a fire pit, and a toilet shovel.

All of our canoes are designed for two adults. However, you can rent extra seats to accommodate three adults or two adults and two small children. The maximum weight is 400 kg, and luggage space will be limited if you have extra seats. If there are three adults, we recommend two canoes—one for equipment to be towed behind the canoe carrying the three adults—or one canoe and one kayak. The canoes are 525 cm long.

We have a water station at the canoe center where you can fill your water bottles or jugs. The water in Lake Immeln is safe to drink and to use for cooking, as long as you boil it. There is also a water station at the marina in Breanäs.

From Easter through the fall break, roughly. We’re open by appointment until mid-June; after that, we have set hours until August, and then we’re open by appointment again. However, it’s best to book your canoe in advance so we can be sure there are canoes available for you. It’s important that you arrive at your scheduled time.

We recommend that you purchase all the provisions you’ll need for your trip, and of course that you do so locally at our ICA in Arkelstorp or COOP in Knislinge. There are no shops here in Immeln or near the lake system. However, we do have snacks and other items you might need in our store at the canoe center.

Dogs are more than welcome! Keep in mind that it can get cold in the canoe when your dog is lying directly on the metal. Bring a blanket for them to lie on, and of course a life jacket for your dog as well. During certain times of the year (April 1–August 20), the natural environment is particularly sensitive, so please keep your dog on a leash during those periods. And of course, dogs must always be on a leash in nature reserves.

Cancellation insurance covers canoes and kayaks rented at Immelns Kanotcenter. There is no deductible. This insurance allows you to cancel or reschedule your reservation up to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival time and receive a full refund of the booking amount, excluding the cost of the cancellation insurance. You must purchase the insurance at the time of booking. Make sure it is included on your booking form. If you do not purchase the insurance, you will not be eligible for a refund if you need to cancel your booking. Cancellations must be made via email

Damage caused without insurance will result in you being liable for the full cost of the lost or damaged equipment. If you break what you rent, you will have to buy it. Canoe insurance: The insurance covers canoes rented from Immelns Kanotcenter. The deductible is 2,000 SEK. The insurance covers damage, theft, handling, and transport, provided the issue did not arise due to negligence. You must purchase the insurance before beginning your rental. Damage occurring without insurance must be compensated at full replacement value. Canoe (23,000 SEK) Make sure it is included on your booking form.

Parking is included for our guests. We never hold onto car keys; you must keep them with you at all times.
